Please Join experienced adventuring professional travel photographer and bird photography expert Mark Rayner and Australian bird expert Dick Jenkin on a bird and nature photography  adventure not to be missed.

During an intensive 9 day workshop we will track down many bird species at some of the best birding locations available. One of the highlights is Gluepot Reserve.

Gluepot is part of the largest block of intact mallee left in Australia.

The area is home to 190 bird species and numerous reptiles. Due to strict fire control much of the area still retains old timber and mallee hundreds of years old with perfect breeding locations for our native birds.

An online list of the birds recorded at Gluepot can be found here -> http://www.gluepot.org/birds.html

But we have much more planned as well. We'll start our adventure with a trip out to Monaro Zoo , an amazing open plain zoo, one of the largest in the world, where we will have plenty of opportunities for bird and animal photography, including many African animals and the beautifully marked Yellow-footed Rock Wallaby.
We'll be staying at Waikerie in the Murray Riverland country where we will spend 4 nights.
Along the way we'll have many opportunities to photograph the beautiful Blue Bonnet with its subtle blue hues, the more common Australian Ringneck, and a variety of honeyeaters including the widespread Singing Honeyeater.
We will take you to visit Banrock Station Winery and Wetlands where water birds and wine prevail. You'll enjoy a  a two-hour sunset cruise on the Murray with some amazing cliffs and bird life.
But it's not all birds. You'll take in some magnificent Flinders Ranges sunsets as you try and emulate famous Australian artist, Sir Hans Heysen. The colours here are stunning.

You'll get to visit the Arid Lands Botanic Gardens in Port Augusta, a magnificent tribute to Australia's amazing flora (which our birds love).

Photographic Prerequisites:

This wonderful and varied photography tour workshop is designed to suit the beginner or serious enthusiast.
A digital SLR or mirrorless interchangeable lens camera camera is recommended. Best lenses to bring include a longer zoom or prime. Lenses such as Canon 100-400, Nikon 80-400, Tamron or Sigma 150-600 are ideal as are 400, 500 and 600 primes. 1.4x and 2x teleconverters are also very useful.
A sturdy monopod or tripod is recommended, preferably fitted with a gimbal head.  In the case of a monopod, at the very least a monopod tilt head needs to be fitted. For the reptile and other animal sessions a shorter zoom or macro lens would be ideal.
A standard zoom (24-70) would also be advisable as some landscape opportunities will present. An external flash could be useful in certain circumstances.
